Version 0.1.7 Patch Notes

Fabric Migration

Core gameplay systems have been rebuilt and adapted for the Fabric version of the mod.
This includes entity registration, renderers, networking, screens, keybinds, spawn blocks, sounds, textures, models, and server communication.

The Fabric version now supports the major gameplay systems previously developed in NeoForge, while improving stability and preparing the mod for future updates.

Quest System
A new quest engine has been introduced.

Players may now interact with Quest Giver NPCs throughout the world.
Quest Givers can offer quests, track player progress, and respond to quest state changes from the server.

Players may now quit accepted quests directly from the journal.
Quest state cleanup has been improved so abandoned quests no longer remain incorrectly attached to the player.

Escort Quests
Escort quests have been introduced.

Players may now accept escort quests from wandering NPCs.
Escort NPCs will follow the player after the quest is accepted.

Players may only accept one escort quest at a time.
This prevents multiple escort NPCs from following the same player and avoids conflicting quest states.

Escort quest completion now properly handles rewards, quest cleanup, NPC removal, and journal updates.

Quest Items
Quest items now have improved handling.
Important quest items can return to the player if thrown or dropped outside the intended quest area.
This helps prevent players from accidentally losing required quest objects during active quests.

NPCs
Quest Giver NPCs have been added.
These NPCs support quest dialogue, quest acceptance, quest state checks, escort behavior, and overhead name display.
Quest Givers now use improved citizen-style models and profession-based textures to better match the visual style of Britannia.

NPC overhead labels have been cleaned up.

The classic font is now used more consistently across menus, messages, NPC text, and quest-related UI.
Font sizing has also been increased slightly for improved readability.

Tools and Adventure Mode
Tool behavior has been improved in Adventure mode.
Britannia pickaxes now correctly interact with supported stone and ore blocks.
Two-handed axes now correctly interact with logs and leaves while retaining their intended weapon behavior.
This allows gathering tools to function more predictably without weakening city and adventure-mode protections.

Housing
House placement and management have been improved.
House placement previews have been corrected so players can better understand where a structure will appear before placing it.
House signs, ownership data, access settings, and private house behavior have been improved.

Players may now manage public and private house settings more reliably.
Redeeding behavior has also been improved so houses clean up correctly and return the appropriate deed state.

World and Environment
Teleportation systems have received stability improvements.
Moongate, carpet, dungeon, and world-edge teleportation behavior has been reviewed and made more consistent.
This helps reduce teleportation regressions and improves movement between linked world locations.

City and region behavior has also received additional debugging support to help verify player location and region state.

General
Many systems have been rebuilt, migrated, or stabilized as part of the move to Fabric.
This update includes improvements to networking, entity spawning, player login handling, quest synchronization, merchant screens, UI rendering, custom fonts, spawn blocks, tool behavior, housing, and overall gameplay stability.

Various bug fixes have been made to support the Fabric version and prepare UltimaCraft for future content updates.
